January birthstone jewelry is mostly made of garnet. Garnet is the very nice red stone pictured below. Garnet is thought to help with prosperity. However, if you do not want a red stone, the mystical birthstone for January is Emerald (a green stone). Emerald has been believed to symbolize fidelity and goodness. Alternately you could choose one of several Zodiac Star stones.
